My name is Stan Gabelein {pronounced Gabe-el-ine}, I’m an artist and an outdoorsman. I went to college at Western Washington U. in Bellingham, Washington, majoring in art. Truth be told I didn't get much out of it and though I was always interested in art, didn't do much with my education for quite some time. I had memorized a bunch of art history and knew everyone's commentary and opinions, but what I wanted to know was simply how to REALLY paint. Then I happened to meet a lady named Libby Berry, who could teach me what I wanted to know about painting and color. I was a very willing student. I learned more from her in 8 weeks than college had taught me in 4 years.

I painted from my experiences in the outdoors, beautiful places I’ve been, including Alaska, Wyoming, British Columbia, Montana and of course my beautiful home, Washington State. (I also visited Niagara Falls while on a fishing trip in Ontario, Canada and later painted that). I painted wildlife, people, landscapes, etc. It was all so exciting to be able to create all these things on canvas.

Now in the last couple years I've been more productive than ever before. The quality is probably more consistent and my style has changed somewhat. I've been selected as featured artist at several galleries and have shown my art at parties and openings across the Puget Sound region. I'm currently seeking additional venues for my art (my wife and I are running out of wall space!).

I am currently showing at SEMANTICS Gallery in downtown Edmonds. Also I'm showing at Horizon Bank at Burlington, WA

Great art never goes out of style. Purchasing original art will give one a lifetime of viewing pleasure and enjoyment. Longer term, the value of quality art never diminishes. It's impervious to the fluctuations of the economy and retains its worth for generations to come. I firmly believe that quality art is one of the best investments you can make.

I hope you enjoy my art.

Sincerely,

Stan Gabelein
